Adult Social Care Lawyer or Senior Lawyer sought for a leading law firm to work on a 12 months fixed term contract basis at one of their offices either in Cambridgeshire or Northamptonshire or Bedfordshire.

This is a rare opportunity for a solicitor or a legal executive with experience in Adult Social Care to join our client’s bespoke firm. The successful candidate will be providing a range of public sector clients with a professional and innovative legal service predominantly in respect of their Adults Health and Social Care functions. This role is hybrid or office based, depending on your preference.

Responsibilities

Undertaking advocacy at courts and tribunals

Represent clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties

Conducting legal research

Advising upon and conducting proceedings relating to adult social care

Providing legal advice to client organisations regarding their safeguarding responsibilities and compliance with statutory duties and obligations

Helping develop training courses for social care and mental health workers

Supervising other members of the team where required

Deputising for the Principal Lawyer (Adults Health and Social Care) or the Head of Adult Social Care and Health where required

The Candidate

Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 1 years PQE in adult health and social services work (Senior Lawyer – 10+ years of PQE)

Proficient in the application and interpretation of adult social care and mental health law as well as conducting legal research

Previous advocacy experience

Experience of Court of Protection welfare matters

A strong communicator, with the ability to explain complex matters in a clear manner

Works well as part of a team but equally comfortable working on your own initiative

Strives for high standards in their work

Highly organised with the ability to meet and exceed tight deadlines

Commercially aware

Great attention to detail
