Business Development Manager

Northwest Based

£45,000 – £48,000 (OTE = 65k)

Company Car or Car Allowance

Hybrid Working

I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a large family run business who are a specialist Third Party Logistics (3PL) provider.

They are seeking a Business Development Manager to provide nationwide supply chain management services to a range of clients across the Transport and General Haulage industry.

The Candidate;

* Previous experience of working in a Business Develop Management role is essential
* Previous logistics industry experience is essential
* Experience of selling transport or general haulage solutions is essential
* 3 years’ experience within a business development or new business/sales role is highly desirable
* Tenacity, drive and perseverance
* A strong relationship builder
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Hard working nature
* A proactive approach to continual professional development
* An effective communicator
* A positive attitude towards customer service and continuous improvement
* Ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes

Duties and Responsibilities;

* Selling a full portfolio of transport solutions including nationwide transport, multi-drop, pallet network, dedicated fleet, trunking and full managed transport solutions
* Devising an effective new business development strategy
* Proactive generation of new clients through phone, virtual and face to face meetings
* Converting all incoming leads and interest
* Building new relationships with target clients
* Managing existing relationships and seeking to develop and expand these relationships
* Converting ad hoc business to contractual, long term business
* Managing a pipeline of leads, activity and prospects
* Negotiation of contracts
* Working with key internal and external stakeholders
* General administration and completion of leases
* Working to set targets and KPIs
