Job Description

Role: Business Development Manager
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum plus commission
Location: Sheffield
The role is to:
1. Secure new Care Home Group business to drive long term profitable growth
2. Drive the growth of developing Tier 2 long term care accounts by achieving the annual sales budgets with sufficient quantity and quality of orders at the right price and product mix
Primary responsibilities
* The main aim of the role will be to secure new long-term care/care group business using proactive outbound communications, and a high level of organisation to manage the new business pipeline, in line with set sales targets.
* Build a network of connections to increase market share in current customers and identify new opportunity
* Secure meetings with key decision makers via routes such as cold calling, emails, marketing leads, Linked In
* Understand the needs and drivers of individual decision makers within care home group organisations
* Demonstrate product and added value
* Frequently travel UK-wide to meet customers and leverage opportunities
* The second aim will be to work cross-departmentally to account manage Tier 2 smaller long-term care/care group accounts as they develop into key accounts and are handed over to the Key Account team. Be the main point of contact when needed, supported by a customer service team and service admin team.
* Increase sales to existing long term care/care group accounts by adding in new product groups/services and growing sales of existing products
* Set pricing and service levels in line with the business and manage escalated issues and conversations.
* Attend relevant trade shows to meet key customers.
* Input into the CRM system, and shared files, long term care/care group information that is relevant for customer services, marketing, accounts, warehouse, and sales departments.
* Monitor existing customers and new business opportunities for commercial viability and act when required to maintain profitability.
* Support extra mile customer service and effective teamwork.
Person Specification
The person will have the personal desire to be proactive and enthusiastic in achieving an annual sales budget, thus driving long term profitable growth, and delivering outstanding customer experience through taking ownership in account management.
* Enthusiasm and proactivity to achieve and exceed sales budget.
* Comfortable on the phone cold-calling potential new customers
* Open to frequent UK-wide travel
* Relevant experience in a sales-based role with a track record of winning new business.
* Shows initiative with a “can do” attitude, and proactively proposes solutions to help develop business/grow sales.
* Strong customer focus: passionate about customers and the service we provide.
* A hands-on, structured, and well organised approach, focusing on daily disciplines as well as monthly targets and deadlines.
* “Go to” person to resolve daily issues and priorities.
* Credible and confident with customers and colleagues.
* Has a strong, confident personality with excellent communication skills.
* Is a team player who likes to engage with and support business colleagues.
* Diligent and has a keen attention to detail. Work is precise and avoids administrative oversights.
* Able to effectively multi-task and handle periods of high workload.
* Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point.
