Job Description

Applications are invited from experienced Children Panel solicitors to join a team of specialist child care solicitors based in Central London.

Established in the early 90's this firm are listed in Chambers as experts in their field with solicitors who are described by their clients as ‘very easy to understand’. They offer a unique specialist service representing children, Children’s Guardians, parents and local authorities in complex public law child protection cases and private family law matters.

Rated as one of The Times Best 200 Law Firms (Family Category) 2022 and two of their solicitors was recently voted as LAPG’s Legal Aid Lawyer of the year.

The Child Care team has a wealth of experience in acting for parents and children involved with social services both pre proceedings and during proceedings.

The team assists with all matters including applications for emergency protection orders, care orders, supervision orders, secure accommodation orders, special guardianship orders (including advice upon support plans), adoption and applications under the Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court. Many members of the team are members of the Law Society’s Children Panel. All solicitors are supported by a team of skilled paralegals.

Due to expansion, our client is looking for a dedicated Solicitor who is a Panel member on a full time, permanent basis and will be offered on a hybrid basis. 

Responsibilities to include – 

Care orders

Adoption

Acting for parents and children

Secure accommodation orders

Applications for emergency protection orders

Child habitation

Playing a key role in the continued development of the firm

The Candidate

Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE

Technical proficiency in childcare matters is a pre-requisite

Membership of the Law Society Children Panel is essential

A team player who is equally comfortable working on own initiative

Demonstrate a flair for business development
