Data / Fibre Engineer (x6) – Buckinghamshire – ASAP start – Permanent role – £30 – 35k (depending on experience) ***

Job Purpose
Primarily this role will involve working as either part of a team or as an individual in various working environments (e.g., commercial, data centre, retail etc.) delivering and supporting project related activities whilst ensuring that all works carried out comply to both industry and customer specific standards.
These works may be under the control of a Project Manager, Site Manager or Supervisor who will have direct responsibility for delivery.
Due to our client’s extensive customer base, you must be able and prepared to travel UK wide. There may also be scope for potential working in mainland Europe.
Our client will request as a condition of employment that you gain both SC and any relevant customer specific security clearances
Ideally with a minimum of two years’ industry experience, the ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
Key Accountabilities:
* Under the appropriate supervision, be able to undertake the installation of Small / Medium and Large Cabling Infrastructure projects.
* Liaising with the Site Supervisor, Site Manager or Project Manager for scheduling of tasks.
* Report labour and material requirements to your Site Supervisor, Site Manager or Project Manager.
* Ensuring quality control is maintained.
* Ensuring a tidy work area is maintained at all times.
* Maintain effective and accurate communication with both customers and team members in order to assist you in the managing of expectations and building strong, professional relationships.
* Maintaining awareness of all outstanding tasks, issues and commitments ensuring that all elements are dealt with efficiently and in a timely manner.
* Abide to processes and procedures, inputting ideas and solutions where possible.
* Attend both internal and external meetings when necessary.
* Adherence to Company Health & Safety Policies
Person Specification
Essential Behaviour and Skills/Competencies:
Demonstrable technical knowledge and installation experience of Copper (both UTP and shielded) cabling systems.
Demonstrable technical knowledge and installation experience of Fibre Optic cabling systems.
Demonstrable technical knowledge and installation experience of Wi-Fi communication systems
Demonstrable knowledge, understanding and usage of patching schedules.
Understand how to correctly use Fluke tester and download results
Able to assist with small sized site surveys
Able to undertake small sized site surveys unaided
Basic working knowledge of Office365 suite
Maintain effective and accurate communication with all internal departments
Maintain effective and accurate communication with customers
Ensure site and personnel adherence to RAMS and H&S docs
Support Site Manager and/or Project Manager
Full UK driving licence
Educated to GCSE level (or the equivalent) in Maths and English
Eligible to work in the UK
ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Card
CNCI (Certified Network Cable Installer) Copper Course
Desirable Behaviour and Skills/Competencies:
BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) cleared or able to gain BPSS clearance.
SC (Security Check) cleared or able to gain SC clearance.
Current holder of relevant Health & Safety certifications, e.g.:
Manual Handling.
Asbestos Awareness.
Ladder Safety.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Risk Assessment Awareness
Control of Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
Fire Safety Awareness.
Working at Heights Awareness.
Confined Spaces Entrant.
EFAW (Emergency First Aid At Work).
IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) Dual Mobile Vertical (3a and 3b) Mobile Boom Operator.
PASMA.
Salary: £30k – £35k (depending on experience and qualifications)
Monday to Friday, 07h00 – 15h00
