IT Support Engineer – Halifax

We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join a rapidly growing IT company in Halifax. The successful applicant will be required to provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers and clients as well as managing and maintaining computer systems and networks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge and understanding of computer networking, hardware and software, as well as experience with IT customer service. The successful applicant must have the ability to work independently, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have a proactive attitude to work.

Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers, both remotely and on-site
* Configure, install, maintain and monitor computer systems, networks and peripherals
* Monitor and ensure the security of computer networks and systems
* Document and troubleshoot customer service and IT support enquiries
* Provide technical advice and assistance to customers
* Assist with the development of IT systems and networks
* Liaise with vendors and suppliers
* Assist with the installation of new hardware and software
* Assist with the training of new staff members

Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
* Excellent knowledge of computer networking, hardware and software
* Extensive experience with IT customer service
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Proactive attitude to work
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of Windows Operating systems and Office 365
* Knowledge of Linux
* Experience with firewall, VPN and Networking technologies
* Experience with Virtual Serves- VMware and Hyper V

Salary: £28,000+
