Job Description

We have a very exciting opportunity for an IT Support Technician to join our market-leading client.

They have a close working team of engineers and support staff who pride themselves on the customer relationships they create. The company fosters a friendly and positive company culture, supporting employees whenever possible.

The successful IT Support Technician will visiting my client’s customers sites in the West Hertfordshire area, including being at their HQ. You will be provided with a company vehicle.

What’s involved?

This position is field based, within the West Hertfordshire area. This is a fantastic role for those who enjoy working with hardware, networking, and a variety of software issues. The successful applicant will have the knowledge that they are completely backed up by our great helpdesk and 3rd line groups.

IT Support Technician – Training and environment

Training is provided to help fast track the successful applicant to succeed. During the probation period, you will briefly spend time assisting the helpdesk in-house, where you can familiarise yourself with customers and colleagues alike. After this you will be sent into the field to shadow our experienced field engineers until you have the knowledge and understanding to work more independently.

The primary environment is Windows 10/11 based, with most users utilising N365, a special version of Office 365. Given the environment, there are many bespoke software packages that you will also receive training on.

Hours of work

Dependent on your circumstances and field requirements, initially the role is 9am (on-site) to 5.30pm, though variations of hours can be discussed and accommodated where possible.

The ideal applicant would have experience in the following:

* 2+ Years’ experience as an IT Support Technician or IT Field Engineer

* PC Hardware Fault/fix

* Windows 7, 8 & 10 competent

* Office suite competence

* Basic MS server competence

* Printer Repair

* Networking principles

* Router & Switch diagnosis

Given the nature of the role, a driving license is a requirement. Applicants need to be over 21 due to restrictions on vehicle insurance
