Job Description

Our Professional Services client has a permanent vacancy for an IT Support Technician to join their close-knit, friendly IT team. The IT department works as a team in providing an efficient IT service to all the firm's users. The job holder is responsible for providing first line IT support and to assist in resolving day to day IT problems & queries in order to ensure that smooth running of the IT systems takes place at all times.

* To deliver practical services of excellence that are focussed on users’ needs.

* To provide first line IT support and to work with other members of the IT department in resolving day to day IT problems, ensuring that all queries are recorded and followed up as necessary.

* To log and maintain calls with both software and hardware maintenance providers ensuring that the calls are responded to within SLA’s.

* To be responsible for the firm’s new starters ensuring that the procedures for managing new starters is comprehensive and carried out to the full.

* When required manage the leavers process with particular focus to closing down all associated system accounts, including on-line systems, for example HighQ.

* Effectively monitor the status of incidents reported escalating to the Service Desk Team Leader as necessary to ensure interruptions to service are resolved in a timely manner

* Coordinate IT business information/activity including interpretation of technical documentation

* Produce good quality documentation and written reports, e.g. how-to guides

* To assist in the implementation of new software packages.

* To review new technology and keep abreast of changes in technology primarily which will involve regularly reading periodicals, communicating and putting forward information and suggestions as appropriate.

* To learn and develop a thorough working and support knowledge of all software products used by the firm.

* Responsible for purchasing all IT consumables.

* PC and laptop builds

* To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

Requirements:

* Helpdesk / customer service essential

* Working knowledge of using Helpdesk logging software essential

* Microsoft Exchange 2010+

* Active Directory, Group Policy

* Windows 7/10

* Experience of automation systems for deploying PC/Laptops
