Job Role: IT Technician 1st line support
Salary: Upto £13ph
Hours: 36hrs per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (some evening work may be involved)
Temporary Hybrid role: 6 month contract with a possibility of extension

Flexible working hoursAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated IT Service Desk Technician within a Local Authority in Hertfordshire
The main responsibilities of this IT Technician role is:
To resolve 1st line tickets on the service desk
To be responsible for the resolution of incidents from detection and recording of an incident on the IS Service Desk through to resolution and closure.
To keep staff informed of the 'status' of incidents from detection until resolution.
To be familiar with known errors recorded in the IDS knowledge base and to be able to implement workarounds and 'quick fixes' in order to restore the service.
Escalation of problems to more senior staff when appropriate (via IDS Service Desk).
Assist the service support Team Leader in maintaining the IDS knowledge base.Skills required for this IT Technician role
GCSE Grade A to C in English, Maths and ICT (or equivalent).
Experience of delivering high quality customer service in a Service Desk role.
Experience of working in an IT role in an office environment.
Knowledge of the workings of an IT Service Desk.
Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows and Office.
Knowledge of and ability to repair and replace hardware and main computer components.
