Job Description
An exciting and varied opportunity as a Legal Cashier to join a forward thinking and growing professional services business based in the heart of Leeds City Centre. A salary of up to £32,000 is on offer alongside a comprehensive benefits package including flexible start times and hybrid working for two days a week. The company also offer 25 days holiday, a 5% pension match scheme, life assurance, annual pay reviews and a bonus scheme.
As a Legal Cashier, you will be primarily responsible for managing and processing high volumes of transactions whilst ensuring that solicitor accounts rules and regulations are adhered to and that strict deadlines are met.
Key responsibilities of the Legal Cashier will include:
Entering cash onto the ledger and reconciling
Processing of CHAPS, BACS, faster payments and inter-account transfers
Responsible for actioning client to office transfers for payments of bills
Checking bills and completion statements
Entering supplier invoices and processing payments
Identifying and allocating receipts to client bank accounts
Recording of client account receipts and payments and updating systems
Dealing with and resolving any queries and any unidentified receipts
Assisting the accounts team with month end and year end duties
We are keen to speak with individuals who have previous experience in a similar position, you may be a Legal Cashier looking to join a business where you are able to develop and progress and secure an end to end, varied role. Accounts Assistants or Finance Assistants who have experience working within a legal/professional services environment will also be considered.
To be successful in this Legal Cashier opportunity the ideal candidate will:
Have experience in a similar legal cashiering role
Be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment
Have excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Excel and database management
Have strong analytical skills and will be able to identify areas of improvement and errors
Have a desire to add value and question existing processes when needed
Be Professional and will have a customer-orientated approach to their workBased in Leeds City Centre this role is commutable from Wakefield, Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield and further afield due to the company offering hybrid working. This role is extremely accessible via public transport and is in walking distance from Leeds Train Station and is on a variety of bus routes from both West and North Yorkshire.
