JOB TITLE: Account Manager
LOCATION: Colchester
SALARY: £28,000 – £32,000 + OTE
Marketing Account Manager
Our client has an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced technical marketing professional to join their team based near Colchester. Hands-on and capable, you will have a passion for technology and a desire to build upon your existing experience within a Marketing Agency setting.
Job Responsibilities
As an Account Manager, you would primarily be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of assigned customers and ensuring the timely and successful delivery of our projects. Due to the nature of this role, it is likely that your day-to-day responsibilities will always vary.
Typical responsibilities might include:
· Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to your accounts
· Build and maintain strong, long-lasting, trusting customer relationships
· Oversee customer account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximise profit
· Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts and customer stakeholders
· Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders through monthly and annual reports and meetings
· Prepare internal reports on account status/performance
· Support in the strategic development of campaigns/projects/strategies for clients
· Attend meetings and workshops with clients
· Create written internal briefs, and brief work into the delivery team
· Proof and review work to ensure it meets the client’s brief
· Liaise with client to agree amends and achieve client sign-off
· Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
· Identify ways to improve the entire customer experience
· Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
· Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts), seeking to achieve or exceed client sales forecasts and KPIs as planned by the Growth Director
· Collaborate with our sales team to identify and grow opportunities within territory
· Assist with client requests or issue escalations as needed
Requirement and Skills
· Proven experience working as an account manager, account executive or a relevant role
· Experience in a marketing agency or similar setting is essential
· Proven sales track record and examples where KPIs have been achieved or exceeded
· Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organisations, including executive and C-level
· Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
· Excellent verbal and written skills
· Ability to prioritise among competing tasks
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
· A creative eye
· A natural at building relationships and rapport with others with integrity, reliability, accountability and maturity
· Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
· Market knowledge
· Ambitious nature – hungry go-getter who loves reaching and exceeding targets
· Excellent time and project management skills – you’re always looking to improve inefficient processes
· Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
· Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential
· Experience of using Adobe InDesign and/or Synergist would be advantageous
