The role

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Production Manager will work at our Chippenham site, the position is available on a full-time basis, typically working Monday to Friday around the hours of 08:00 till 16:00, however given the nature of role flexibility is expected. As the Production Manager you will be responsible for a range of managerial tasks within the production department. This includes maintaining quality, efficiency, Health, Safety and Environmental standards. You may be required to work in other areas of the site as required for business continuity.

Responsibilities

Develop and pro-actively manage the Health and Safety systems and procedures, driving safety KPI’s to ensure accident prevention and safety improvement in manufacturing.
Manage overall production activity within Chippenham site to achieve KPI targets and business objectives with daily, weekly and monthly review of all KPI’s with team members.
Manage departmental output versus budgetary constraints and review monthly with operations controller.
Co-ordinate activities with site and distribution management to ensure operational efficiency and safety standards are maintained and improved.
Develop good working partnerships with internal stakeholders to ensure KPI’s are achieved.
Ensure manufacturing on time in full (OTIF) and production plan attainment are in line with business objectives
All internal and external quality issues are addressed and Parts Per million (PPM) Defects are to world class standards
Communicate effectively with employees, lead and motivate to develop relations and successful manage personnel resources
React to process deviations and implement improvement actions
Ensure SAP Master Data is compliant and take corrective actions as appropriate
Deputise for Site Manager as and when required.  

Profile

HNC/D in relevant manufacturing discipline
At least 5 years production management experience
Lean/Six Sigma methodologies – Certification to minimum Green Belt Level
IOSH/NEBOSH safety qualification
Pro-active in a pressurised environment
Understanding of thermoplastic materials, extrusion and injection moulding processes and or assembly automation advantageous
Good working knowledge of H&S legislation in relation to manufacturing (IOSH/NEBOSH qualification)
Good understanding of eliminating manufacturing waste through use of recognised continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong communication skills. Effective at communicating 1:1, in groups and to senior personnel both verbally and in writing.
Effective coach, mentor delivering improved performance through people engagement
EHS legislation quality processes/procedures – IPPC, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
A creative thinker, proactive and dynamic with excellent problem solving and motivational skills
