RF Inbuilding Design Engineer – Surrey

Main Purpose of Job

Responsible for the survey, design and handover of Special Coverage sites. The role will involve working in the office and being involved in onsite surveys/meetings throughout the UK delivering coverage solutions for varying site environments.

Main responsibilities

Design Engineer (Special Coverage)

1. Design and optimise Client solutions to meet KPIs with the aim to deliver high quality, cost-effective solutions in support of business initiatives whilst maintaining high levels of customer experience and network perception.

2. Complete site visits including: a. Existing coverage testing b. Cable and equipment surveys c. Propagation testing d. DAS commissioning e. Fault finding f. Repeater commissioning g. Active equipment balancing

3. All sites will need to be designed with the use of iBwave and Microsoft Office Programmes.

4. To support the design team in performing their day-to-day duties.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

* Must have experience with technologies; GSM, CDMA, UMTS and LTE

* Must have a high level of operator specific technical experience, including operator equipment, process and standards

* Must have iBwave experience, level 1 as a minimum, level 2 and 3 preferred

* Must have DAS design experience

* Experience with Small Cell design

* Experience with Repeater design, commissioning and optimisation

* Experience with Active equipment design and commissioning

* Experience with Stadia design

* Experience with test equipment – Spectrum analysers, nemo test phones etc

* Effective communicator with confidence to communicate to the design team, project managers, clients and our client’s customers.

* Manage own time effectively and prioritise several activities simultaneously to deliver to agreed timescales

* High level of Special Coverage technical understanding, including technologies, equipment and operator standards
