Job Description

TUV SUD are now looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join our Industrial Products team. The aim of this role is to support the Head of Machinery in developing and implementing a machinery sales strategy and to increase order input to the machinery team. As the successful applicant, you will be responsible for defining the target customers around current and complimentary service offerings. You, in collaboration with the Head of Machinery, will develop a sales plan and liaise with the Field Sales Managers to agree commercial targets and KPI’s to ensure orders are line to support the machinery teams annual budgets.
You will take the lead on developing and driving new key account growth whilst managing the tiers of customers. You will be the point of contact for new leads and allocating the sales activities to other sales team members in line with agreed areas of responsibility to deliver the planned growth.
This role will require robust pricing techniques to be implemented to optimise the opportunity whilst adding value to the customer. There will also be a requirement to ensure that the sales processes and tools are optimised by working closely with the Projects Office.
This role will require travel to develop the key accounts, travel can be national or international and time ‘on the road’ is estimated to be around 30% – 40%.
Main Duties and Responsibilities – you will:
* With the Head of Machinery, develop the machinery team’s commercial sales strategy, liaising with the PS Commercial Director as required
* Develop and drive key account growth
* Develop recommended commercial targets to ensure annual budgets are achieved and advise the Head of Machinery on behalf of the commercial team.
* Monitor commercia team KPI’s and update the Head of Machinery and other members on the teams alignment.
* Manage quotation generation from any allocated Tier 1, 2 or 3 accounts.
* Handle incoming enquiries effectively, loading onto the CRM system and assigning to relevant salesperson.
* Develop robust pricing techniques to optimise the opportunity whilst adding value to the customer
* Optimise the sales processes and tools by working closely with the Projects Office
* Ensure that lead to quotations are fast and effective
* Conducting and when required, plan client meetings for the commercial team.
* Identify, research and contact/visit prospective clients to build relationships. Maintain regular contact with existing customers and visit in person when beneficial.
* Identify, plan and attend relevant events, participate in sales campaigns and network effectively to build and develop marketing contacts.
* Chair KPI meetings with Key Accounts and actively seek customer feedback on services and projects that have / are being delivered.
Essential Criteria – the successful candidate will demonstrate:
* A good understanding of the Machinery market and product test, inspection and certification knowledge
* Experience in preparing accurate and timely technical documentation.
* Exposure/ involvement in the sales process, with experience of generating quotations.
* A current valid driving license and a willingness to travel as required.
* A technical aptitude and the ability to develop an understanding of technical information and embed this learning within their work.
* Good interpersonal skills evidenced by constructive internal and external relationships.
* Comfortable dealing with customers and prospects at all levels.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel & Power Point.
