Forsyth Barnes have partnered with an exciting, industry-leading payments business, who are searching for a Software Engineering Lead to join their innovative team. The Engineering Lead is part of a team and actively participates in the hands-on day-to-day work on code and technical solutions inside the corresponding domain. The Engineering Lead is able to oversee the technical solution, and guide and mentor for Clean Code, Test Driven Development, and technical and operational excellence. You will be required to remain hands on and also provide mentorship and steering to your more junior colleagues.

Software Engineering Lead – Responsibilities

* Provide technical leadership to one cross-functional product engineering team and guide the development of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software systems

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

* Support close collaboration with Business, Engineering and Product Managers

* Create and communicate a technical road map for and with your team

Software Engineering Lead – Requirements

* 5 years' experience as a Software Developer

* 2 years within Technical Leadership

* Strong expertise in at least two of the following areas: Java, Kotlin, Angular, Spring/Spring-Boot, TDD, CI/CD, DDD, Microservices Architecture, AWS or similar cloud-native architectures, RESTful, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch

* Excellent communication and leadership / mentoring skills

* Beneficial; experience in Scala, Streaming Services, Data Pilpelines or Kafka
